A lampshade with a metallic coating will reflect the light giving a warmer glow, but no light can penetrate the sides of the lampshade, which means that the light source is directed upwards and downwards. – A light-colored cotton or linen lampshade, without a double lining, will diffuse the light in 4D, meaning the light source will not only be directed up and down, but will also shine from the sides. – A dark-colored cotton or linen lampshade, without lining, will also diffuse the light in 4D, and the light emitted from the sides will be softer.
